Penstemon
Penstemon is a warrior medicine. What’s striking about this plant’s signature is that it grows and thrives amongst rock formations. This connotes the saying “being caught between a rock and a hard place”, which refers to being faced with equally challenging options. Penstemon is not necessarily a medicine for making difficult decisions, but it IS a medicine for thriving in hard places or situations. Those in need of this essence face many adversities that may leave them feeling persecuted by life. Penstemon helps us to draw from internal wells of courage, fortitude, and adaptability that enhance feelings of capacity, connection to and trust in spiritual powers. With spiritual connection in the face of adversity, we are assured that our most difficult life situations are actually our greatest teachers.
