Goldenrod
Many of us belong to various communities: family, spiritual, social, work, school, etc. Each community comes with unspoken expectations that are the makeup of group culture. As children, we do not have strongly defined individuality – even as adults, this can be a struggle, causing us to be swayed by group expectations, tricked into believing that the group culture is Who We Are. Moreover, we learn through membership in these communities that validation and acceptance are the result of our acquiescence to group culture. The medicine of Goldenrod spirit allows a deeper communication with the Inner Self that helps establish individual principles and personal identification. This way, the Self can pivot from an individuated establishment even while being part of various groups, rather than being overly influenced and confused by group expectations.
A wonderful medicine for anyone struggling with peer pressure, or loss of Self in family systems or other groups.
