California Pitcher Plant
California Pitcher Plant draws attention to our human propensity to split off from the more basal and instinctual parts of our being. This tendency happens because of our mammalian capacity to be self-reflective and self-aware, but alienates us from our desire-nature. Desire is a natural, acceptable, and motivating part of Who We Are – when we deny our desire-nature, we are denying the reason we have life at all – our bodies! We could not enjoy the myriad beautiful experiences of this life if not for our physical vessels! This denial of physicality can cause weakness, digestive issues – because of inability to assimilate matter (that which is PHYSICAL) – and sexual imbalances. California Pitcher Plant helps to restore healthy relationship to and honoring of the physical.
